Shahida Ahmed’s art fit for the Prime Minister

Shahida Ahmed, a ceramic artist from Pendle UK was invited to 10 Downing Street by the Prime Minister David Cameron to attend the Eid Al-Adha Celebrations this Month. The event was attended by selected guests, including HRH Princess Badiyah from Jordon, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, MEP Sajid Karim and many other Muslims from the UK.

'Written Images: Contemporary Calligraphy from the Middle East', curated by noted art historian Karin von Roques, explores the role of traditional Islamic calligraphy and symbols in the contemporary Middle Eastern consciousness. Exhibition opened at Sundaram Tagore New York on November 10, 2011.
