The much anticipated 'Awafi Heritage Festival' is returning to the Ras Al Khaimah. This year’s edition will be held at Al Qawasim Corniche, making it more accessible to visitors and residents.

The 'Awafi Heritage Festival', which celebrates the ethnic and cultural heritage of Ras Al Khaimah, will feature authentic displays and activities for the whole family to enjoy. From arts and crafts to cultural displays, children’s activities, live entertainment and a traditional market place, festival visitors will be able to immerse themselves in Ras Al Khaimah’s local culture and experience it first-hand. The festival, which is free to enter, will feature 54 retail kiosks with huge product displays, five food and beverage outlets offering scrumptious snacks and refreshments, an 800-square-metre children's playing area and live entertainment shows on stage every weekend.

One of the world’s fastest growing tourism destinations, Ras Al Khaimah boasts a rich culture and long-standing history dating back 7,000 years. The Emirate boasts an array of archaeological sites and breath-taking natural vistas, from golden sand beaches, awe-inspiring terracotta dunes and a green belt of date palms to Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE.

Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: “We are happy to announce the return of the 'Awafi Heritage Festival'. This year the festival will be held at Al Qawasim Corniche, one of Ras Al Khaimah’s most popular landmarks, and will run for three full months as opposed to its usual three weeks, offering visitors easier access while bringing the Emirate’s authenticity and culture to life.

'Awafi Heritage Festival' is a defining event in the Emirate's tourism calendar. It attracts visitors from across the UAE and the wider GCC in celebration of Ras Al Khaimah’s rich culture and heritage. This year, we look forward to welcoming our 'culture seeker' guests and introducing them to Emirate’s real feel of Arabia.”

The festival will run from December 15, 2018 until March 15, 2019 offering visitors three months of cultural festivities.
