was born in 1971 Barreiro in Lisbon and lives and works between Eus (Pyrénées-Orientales) in France and Lisbon in Portugal. Nuno de Matos, aka Matox, has grown up at Saint-Céré, France, near the alelier of Jean Lurçat. He studied at the University of Toulouse, now he lives at Eus, a famous village in the French Catalonia. His graffiti work is influenced by urban art of the streets of the Bairo Alto of Lisbon and from the narrow streets of the Barri Gothic of Barcelona, Islamic Arabesques, abstract writing and Rock art from the of caves in his Quercy’s roots. Bombing art with multi spray layers and calligraphy are developed in abstract and expressionist “action paintings”. He is the author of “video skinning” for live performance, post-graffiti live in mix sessions.
