ISLAMIC ARTS MAGAZINE 01
EDITORIAL
Respected readers,The establishment of our web magazine "Islamic Arts" is the result of the perceived necessity to bring Islamic arts to a greater reading audience, and also to emphasize the themes that will be of interest to connoisseurs and experts within the various genres of Islamic arts.
The magazine will elaborate on themes from the history of Islamic arts and culture, of significant personalities and of different style periods.
A strong emphasis will be placed on actual events - such as interviews, reportages, presentation of museums and galleries; along with tendencies within the Islamic contemporary fine arts expression, and others. Architecture will be included, as will the arts of photography, film and fashion.
The work of prominent personalities and artists, who don’t necessarily adhere to the Islamic cultural circle, and whose works are deemed to be inspirational to furthering the exposition of the various genres within the realm of Islamic arts, will be presented in the magazine.
In addition, scientific works will also be published. In this way, we shall attempt to include all of what we call the "visual art of Islam;" linking the past to the present, while at the same time, giving a sense of direction towards the future.
With your support, "Islamic Arts" will attempt to precisely imply to the new/old values; to what Islamic art really is all about, what it should represent and how it is presented.
IT’S TIME FOR A NEW ADVENTURE, SO PLEASE JOIN US!
Kenan Šurković
Editor-in-chief
