EDITORIAL

In this editorial I would like to share with our readers the tremendous feedback that we have received, in that the Islamic Arts Magazine is continuing to prove to be a very successful and worthwhile project. The quality of both content and presentation has been recognized by people from around the world. We have a steadily increasing number of subscribers and have received contact from people who would like to establish cooperation with us. Islamic Arts Magazine is a leader in the field of quality information about Islamic art, as well as an important source for the study of different topics concerning this genre.

It is for these reasons that we are very pleased to present Issue No. 4 with very interesting content. Firstly, there are interviews with the various artists, including: the famous Turkish interior designer Zeynep Fadillioğlu and her work on the Şakirin Mosque in Istanbul; an exciting photographic cycle by the famous Bosnian photographer Jasmin Fazlagić, who portrays traditional clothing in Bosnia and Herzegovina; we also have an interview with the Tunisian conceptual artist, Ziad Helmi Zitoune, with his visual language and explicit interpretation of the acute problems of modern expression; young Bosnian calligrapher and "ebru" artist Alen Glušac, who discusses the "Spiritual and Artistic in Islamic Art;" and finally, the work of a new photographic talent from Cairo: Islam Nour and his very exciting photographic cycle.

Of special interest to our readers is an interview with graphic designer Muiz Anwar, whose work ranges from the typographic to the social studies. We bring you an interesting project called "Line and Research" by Talhaoui Mohammed and also present the not-for-profit organization: "Humantree". There is also a great presentation of the Walters Art Museum, in Baltimore, Maryland, with its amazing Islamic art collection.

In addition, we present other topics that will take you on another interesting journey through Islamic art.

I hope that you will enjoy this new 258 page issue of Islamic Arts Magazine.

Sincerely,

Kenan Šurković
Editor-in-chief
