CAIRO - PHOTOGRAPHIC TREASURE

"Mostly, when I take photos of Islamic architecture I am trying to show the story of those people who made that architecture and the way they were feeling the beauty of art. Art is always related to religion and knowing that, through art, you can understand other artists." (Islam Nour)

IAM: How did you become a photographer?

Islam Nour: Well I always had the passion for photography since I was a child but it wasn’t going in a direction of a professional career until one of my friends came to me and show me his photography. He asked me for my opinion and it was like an open door for me, just to go through. I started making model photography with a classic concept.

IAM: How do you choose your motives and are some of them particularly inspiring for you?

Islam Nour: As for the motives, there are a lot of inspiration all around me. I like mostly the dinamics among the light and the dark. Both are very inspiring. The light is a part of human nature and the dark is absence of light. Feeling that is like giving the shape to an empty space.
