LINE AND RESEARCH
The land of Islamic architecture remains as one of the most wonderful inheritances of Universal Humankind. In fact, we can state on the basis of works we have been engaged in for several years, to which point a humankind marked a period in history when the basic geometry, with strict laws, was transferred into the art that opened a space of creation in the infinite horizons. This mystery stands in the fact that the abstract geometric knowledge could have been transformed due to the artistic alchemistry in the concrete expression: decoration, supported with different materials. Then an infinite number of artistic shapes came to life; shapes which were able to unite in harmony a large aesthetics revaling the values of „beautiful”.
Starting from our formation of an artist, for several years, we undertook the realization of artistic structures on different materials. We were raised in the town of Tlemcen which is rich with Muslim arhitectural traces and under such environment we have been filled always with an open curiosity and a desire to comprehend how a human genius could rise to such complex works of art.As we observed these works of Islamic arts, we understood that decorative „expression” became an imperative. Considering the fascination we felt for the preciseness of the patterns of such expression, the idea came to rise to teach others the ornamental art. In our attempt to develop that idea, our need grew as to even write our previous discoveries related to decorative expression. We also had the need to finalize a detailed study of how much Muslim towns differ as the main keepers of that art. Thus, little by little, we concentrated on that aim, and we could notice a perfection of the line leading along its own flow. By cutting geometrical spaces along which the line moves, we could actually identify and extract laws which scrupulously direct that line in its itinerary.
This emphasizes the need to make a space which could gather all those laws and to apply them through the Library of literature of decorative expression.
