The 13th Exhibition of Arte Laguna Prize Changes its Opening Date

The 120 finalist artists selected by the international jury have been announced and their artworks will be on view in the evocative setting of the Venice Arsenale, until April 25. The exhibition will be enriched by an exciting program of art talks, guided tours and educational workshops.

Mehdi Moutashar and Marina Tabassum - First Ever Joint Winners of Jameel Prize 5

The artist Mehdi Moutashar (b.1943, Hilla, Iraq) and the architect Marina Tabassum (b. 1969 in Dhaka, Bangladesh) have been announced as joint winners of the £25,000 Jameel Prize 5. This is the first time the prize has been awarded to two finalists. Fady Jameel, President of Art Jameel, presented Mehdi and Marina with the prize at an evening ceremony at the V&A on Wednesday 27 June.

Ghulam Mohammad Announced as Winner of Jameel Prize 4

Pakistani artist Ghulam Mohammad has won the £25,000 Jameel Prize 4 for his five works of paper collage, four Untitled and one with the title Gunjaan (2014). Ayşe and Ece Ege, founders of Turkish fashion label Dice Kayek and winners of Jameel Prize 3, presented Ghulam Mohammad with the Prize at a ceremony at the Pera Museum, Istanbul, on Tuesday 7 June.

Jameel Prize 4 Shortlisted Artists

The V&A has announced the shortlist for the Jameel Prize 4. Eleven artists and designers have been shortlisted for this year’s £25,000 prize, which is awarded every two years.
