Applications are open for the 6th Edition of Albaraka Türk International Calligraphy Competition, held every three years since 2005 by Albaraka Turk, pioneer of the Participation Banking sector. Deadline of the competition, which is considered one of the most prestigious calligraphy competitions, is April 15, 2021.

Calligraphy is an area where Islamic sensitivity and aesthetics meet at a golden ratio. The art of calligraphy passed on to future generations through a master-apprentice relationship. Calligraphy, which is the profession of "fine writers", is learned by practising with a master; starting with a single letter and ending with the master's approval. Throughout history, the writing of the Quran has been the present in Islamic communities. The Ottomans, one of the civilizations that contributed the most in developing and beautifying this writing, made fine writing art in itself.
