In this article we are bringing you the highlights from Sabah Arbilli's latest exhibition 'Her' at Sharjah Art Museum. The exhibition, showing calligraphic paintings and sculptures is inspired by poetry written by leading poets from the Arab world.

The exhibition 'Her' was a part of Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2014, organized by the Directorate of Arts in the Department of Culture and Information, Government of Sharjah, in the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE. This year the Biennial was held as part of the celebrations of naming Sharjah as the Islamic Capital of Culture for 2014. The Biennial ended in June 2, 2014.

Sabah Arbilli, an Iraqi- British artist currently working and living in Qatar, Doha, known for his painting and sculpture, has had a tremendous impact on Arabic calligraphy-inspired art on the international art scene. A winner of many awards, he explores calligraphy in a new contemporary way. His practice combines a painterly aesthetic with the beauty of Arabic letters.
