Assistant Secretary General of HIPA dedicates personal accolade to women in the UAE and the Arab World

The Assistant Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photograhy Award (HIPA), Sahar Al Zarei, has won the Bronze medal at the annual ‘Stevie’ Women in Business Awards held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City. The awards ceremony, which took place on the 8th of November (Eastern Standard Time), was designed to honour and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and businesswomen worldwide.

Ms. Al Zarei was chosen as a finalist in the Lifetime Achievement – Government or Non-Profit category at this year’s Stevie Awards and was the only woman representing the Emirate of Dubai at the ceremony, which included finalists from several international countries. Ms. Al Zarei’s award was presented to her by Michael Gallagher, President and host for the 2013 Stevie Women in Business Awards.

Commenting on her receipt of the Bronze medal, Ms. Al Zarei stated that she was "delighted to have achieved this accolade on behalf of all the hard working women in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab World, who are the unsung heroes of past and present generations." Al Zarei added "The HIPA team is also full of hard working and vibrant women whose contributions are priceless to the Award as well as society in Dubai and the UAE. The faith entrusted to us by our astute leadership in Dubai has empowered women in business and authority inspiring them to excel on the international stage."
