HIPA Secretary General, His Excellency Ali bin Thalith said, “National Dress is a distinctive visual identity of different peoples and cultures. Even in one country, we find a diversity of traditional costumes that distinguish one region from another. The November competition was an opportunity for photographers to explore these masterpieces which highlight the unique design and colours of each costume. We congratulate the winners and invite all our photography community to develop their talent and get involved in our upcoming competitions for their chance to be our next winner."
Nidhal Al Salmi said, “The photograph was taken on April 20, 2018, in a traditional house in the state of Al Hamra in the Sultanate of Oman, where the girls gathered there and all of them boasted their traditional clothes and looked happy. I am very happy with this first win, which gave me a lot of motivation and enthusiasm to continue to succeed. I will continue to increase my knowledge of photography and aspire to reach universality.â€

Hasan Al Taif said, “The picture was taken at Omdurman in Khartoum, Sudan, in 2018. There were popular dancing parties where women wore traditional Sudanese uniforms. I have won many awards before, but I am happy to win this important competition since the first participation. I want to play a role in spreading the true picture of the whole world. This victory supports me in conveying my work and adds an important asset to my career."
