His Excellency Ali bin Thalith, the Secretary General of HIPA, cited that this season’s award will accept submission for all categories in an exclusively electronic manner, through the HIPA.ae website. According to the General Secretary, this method of submission was chosen and expanded upon the feedback received from the first season of the award “Love of the Earth” which was a huge success.

Bin Thalith added that the introduction of the new “Black and White” category added to the existing “Emirates”, “General” and the grand category “Beauty of Light” is set to attract more competitors to take part in this year’s award. There will also be a featured page on the HIPA.ae website where competitors are able to view all the winning photographs and finalist entries from the previous seas.

“We wanted this season’s competitors to see the high standard of submissions that took part in the first season for themselves and to push them towards a higher standard of photography, which is all part of our vision” added Bin Thalith.

His Excellency concluded by stating that “competitors have a window of opportunity from now until midnight of the 31st of December (UAE standard) to submit their entries. This gives them enough time to understand the award’s new guidelines and categories”. “We have put an added emphasis on clarifying the changes that have occurred in the award to our global competitors by upgrading the English section of the website”. “We do not want any of our talented competitors to perhaps miss out on an opportunity to be a winner with us because he/she did not follow a small guideline. We therefore encourage them to carefully read all the guidelines on the HIPA.ae website”.
