The award beat off competition from 420 organizations throughout the Arab world to celebrate the launch of its new website in fine style. Websites were judged on aspects such as website design, user-friendliness, and various other technical aspects related to the programming of web pages.

The Hamdan International Photography Award had launched its new website in March of this year in line with the launch of the third season of the award 'Creating the Future'. The current HIPA website is available in four languages which are Arabic, English, German and Mandarin Chinese. The new website was designed to improve the submission process for photographers wishing to submit photographs in this season’s competition as well as visitors wanting to learn more about the award and the art of photography.

The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) is an internationally renowned photography competition. It was launched in 2011 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The award enjoys a social and legal stature as a tool for promoting Dubai’s vision of artistic and cultural excellence. Having attracted some of the world’s most talented photographers to take part in its debut season, the award is set to build on the wealth of competitors taking part with an increased grand prize of US $120,000. This increase gives the award the esteemed position of having the biggest prize money of any photography competition anywhere in the world. On a local level, the award hopes to develop and increase awareness of the art of photography amongst the young Emirati population
