Mehmed's drawings and graphic prints portray the historic city PoÄitelj in Bosnia and Herzegovina, famous for its monuments and remains from of the Ottoman period. The author has presented a panoramic image of this Mediterranean city, as well as the famous Shishmar Ibrahim Pasha Mosque, local madrassas, gorgeous stone houses and the beautiful landscapes with the river Neretva. The lines in Mehmed Slezović drawings seems quick and straightforward, at times even expressive and suggestive, but very interesting in detail, where he tries to evoke the characteristic elements of Mediterranean culture.
Mehmed Slezović was born in 1960 in Novi Pazar (Serbia). He graduated at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and has a Ph.D. in the field of art theory on the subject of art drawings. He is an award-winning artist and his work was exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Bosnia and abroad.
