In Viječnica (Sarajevo City Hall), on July 27, a reception was held for the officials on the occasion of the opening of the Sarajevo Halal Fair. The programme marked also the opening of the photo exhibition 'Pearls of Islamic Architecture' that will be on view in Viječnica until October 8, 2018.

Sarajevo Halal Fair is an international fair of the halal industry from food and beverages, tourism, finance and investment, healthcare, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals to fashion, arts, design & creative industries. The founder of the Sarajevo Halal Fair is BBI - Bosna Bank International, a bank that operates on the principles of Islamic economy.

In the beautiful ambience, the audience were addressed by Abdulah Skaka, Mayor of Sarajevo; Muharem Šabić, Minister of Sarajevo Economy and Amer Bukvić, Director of Bosna International Bank.

Also, the awards for the contribution to the Sarajevo Halal Fair were awarded to His Excellency Dato Doktor Mudzahid Jusuf Rava, Minister at the office of the Premier of Maleysia; Ihsan Ovut, General Secretary of the Institute; Israfil Kuralaj, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Istanbul and Muhammed Abdullah Al-Amri, Director of Tourism and National Heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamad Mahathir addressed the audience with a special video link from New York.

Highlights from the exhibition 'Pearls of Islamic Architecture'

As part of this event the photo exhibition 'Pearls of Islamic Architecture' opened. The exhibition was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Islamic Arts - Monolit. Photographs were taken by Kenan Šurković and Elvira Bojadžić and show some of the most famous mosques in the world, such as: the Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur, the Al Noor Mosque in Sharjah, the Sultan Fatih Mosque in Sarajevo, etc. The visitors have an opportunity to see the beautiful mosques from Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Istanbul (Turkey), Abu Dhabi and Sharjah (UAE) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The exhibition 'Pearls of Islamic Architecture' is on view until October 8, 2018 in the exhibition hall on the first floor at the Viječnica in Sarajevo.
