DUBAI / The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) is set to expand its marketing strategy next week, by taking part in 'PhotoImage Brasil' in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. The Photography and imaging exposition is considered the largest of its kind in South America involving technology, innovation and business and will run from the 28th until the 30th of August.

HIPA will set up a stand at the event showcasing essential information as well as a collection of winning photographs from the previous seasons of the award. Commenting on the developments, Sahar Al Zarei, the assistant Secretary General of HIPA expressed her delight at “exhibiting HIPA on the largest possible stage in South America”. She added that “HIPA’s aim is to reach the largest possible number of competitors from all around the world, taking part in PhotoImage Brasil will help attract many talented photographers in the region to take part”.

HIPA will also showcase a work-shop at PhotoImage Brasil by world renowned photographer Martin Grahame-Dunne, to familiarize photographers with various basic and advanced photography skills. The Assistant secretary general explained that “HIPA wants to share all our expertise with photographic communities all around the world. Through our participations, we are truly reflecting the award’s vision of sharing the art of photography with as many people as possible”.

Currently in its third season of competition, the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award is set to be the richest photography award in the world for the second season running. Founded in 2011 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, the award is set to boast a grand prize of $120,000 and an overall prize pool of $389,000.
