Carefully selected abstract details that "remain visible", a visual representation of the memories we wish to keep fresh in our mind as the rest is forgotten

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah, the Cultural Affairs Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture has organised the 20th Edition of the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival.

The solo exhibition 'Post Humanity: The Impact', is on view at the Sharjah Art Museum as part of the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival 2017/18.

There is no present time, since that constantly changes. Every second is already part of our past. The future does not exist as a physical time only as a psychological representation of what the next moment is going to be. Since the time is a non-stop changing we need art to preserve the moments and also to recreate the feelings of those moments. That is what makes an impact in Jaride's work.

The exhibition presents an installation with a fan and pieces of papers representing passed moments, details of our lives. The papers pieces are not still, they move and with that they change our perception. The same is true with the past moments, it constantly changes as we grow and our experiences change, so does our perception of the past events. Since we no longer experience them the same way we could argue that our past is constantly changing.

His paintings and works on paper show that Jaride is concerned with carefully selected abstract details that "remain visible", a visual representation of the memories we wish to keep fresh in our mind as the rest is forgotten.
