EXHIBITION AT BIRMINGHAM MUSEUM & ART GALLERY ‘Symmetry in Sculpture’ - Recent Work by Zarah Hussain

An exhibition of work by one of the UK’s most exciting British Pakistani artists is on view at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. ‘Symmetry in Sculpture’ presents visitors with intriguing and engaging three-dimensional wall sculptures, which are inspired by the complex patterns emerging from simple repeating shape as found in Islamic art.
This is the largest display of Hussain’s work, who has spent many years perfecting the traditional techniques used to create mathematical geometric art, and adapting them to make works with a contemporary character. The exhibition has been made possible thanks to support from Arts Council England.
Zarah Hussain comments; "I am delighted that my work is presented in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and really pleased to show my collection in a city that embodies creativity and diversity."
