In this issue of Islamic Arts Magazine, we have prepared a variety of content. We bring you an exclusive interview with Reedah El-Saie, the director of London’s Mica Gallery and a review of its recent exhibit of contemporary Egyptian art ‘From Facebook to Nassbook’. The show is dedicated to the memory of experimental artist Ahmed Bassiony who perished during the recent events in Cairo. The new issue also features several interesting interviews with a host of talented artists: famous Bosnian painter Džeko Hodžić, British designer Ruh al-ʼAlam, Turkish calligrapher Mustafa Nazif Duran, Australian architects Issam Nabulsi and Khalid Bouden from Desypher Architecture, and Mohammed Amin, a director of Silk Route Clothing.
You will also discover the association Muslim Women in the Arts or MWIA in an interview with its coordinator Nadia Janjua and a gallery display of three selected members: Lateefa Spiker, Nama Khalil and Tahsin Dhirani. From Istanbul, we present the Rüstem Paşa Mosque with photos of its astonishing interior and beautiful Iznik tiling. From Bosnia, we bring you the innovative mosque decoration designed and executed by Elvis Hajdarević and Velid Hodžić, two contemporary master calligraphers as well as an overview of the Museum of Sarajevo’s extensive Islamic art collection.
An informal travel reportage on Morocco and the third part of the series of articles on the art of inscriptions have also been included. Finally, we are providing the links to four book reviews so you can stay up to date on the new vast literature on Islamic art and peruse our active and regularly updated blog viewed by thousands from all corners of the globe.

We hope you will enjoy this issue of Islamic Arts eMagazine.
