Kenan ŠurkoviÄ‡ > Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Kenan studied Political Science and Art History at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A dedicated journalist and art critic, he has written for several art magazines. In 2004, he published â€˜The idea of Islamic Artâ€™ in the Bosnian language and has since written two more books that will be published in the near future: â€˜Two Studies of Impressionismâ€™ and â€˜Art and Abstract Perception of Formâ€™.

Also an artist, Kenan has participated in over 20 group and solo exhibitions, and organized 12 group exhibitions in Bosnia, Serbia and Turkey.

As the President of the MONOLIT (Association for promoting Islamic Arts) he founded Islamic Arts Magazine with Elvira BojadÅ¾iÄ‡.

Elvira BojadÅ¾iÄ‡ > Co-Founder and Art Director

Elvira studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.

Elvira is an award-winning graphic designer, consistently taking home every year since 2006 a silver, gold, or grand award at the NO LIMIT, Sarajevo Advertising Festival. Her signature sense of colour, composition and design infusing every page of Islamic Arts Magazine is greatly appreciated by the IAM readership.

Also an artist, Elvira has participated in over 20 group and solo exhibitions in BiH, Slovenia, Serbia and Turkey.

She is a member of ULUPUBIH (Association of the Artists of the Applied Arts in BiH), ELIF (Association of Artists) and MONOLIT (Association for promoting Islamic Arts).
