The Next Generation: Contemporary Iranian Calligraphy

ZÃœRICH / Iranian art has entered a particularly significant period of transformation, driven by a thriving artistic community both inside and outside of Iran. Galerie Kashya Hildebrand will present six emerging contemporary artists (Aghighi Bakhshayeshi, Mohamad Bozorgi, Habib Faraj Abadi, Hadieh Shafie, Abolfazi Shai and Behrouz Zindashtiof) of Iranian origin who are pushing Iranian art in bold new directions. The exhibition will run until August 18, 2012.

In Memoriam: Lubna Agha – Artist in White

In February this year, a retrospective of art by Lubna Agha was featured at the Gardiner Art Gallery on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. An outstanding exhibition featuring many of her recent paintings, it would be Lubna’s last. Lubna passed away May 6 at her home in Boston, Massachusetts.

World Press Photo 2012 Exhibition in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO / The exhibition World Press Photo Sarajevo, at the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shows 169 winning images from the most recent annual World Press Photo Contest. The exhibitions will run until Maj 22, 2012, then it will move to Banja Luka, and will be open until June 4, 2012.
