Islamic Calligraphy by Rasheed Butt

As part of Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2014, a solo exhibition by well known Pakistani calligrapher Rasheed Butt is on view at the Calligraphy Area until June 6, 2014. The famous artist was honoured by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Sharjah for his contribution in the field of Islamic Calligraphy.

Sahar Al Zarei awarded with ‘Excellent Achievement Award’ at the IPC Pro Luncheon

Sahar Al Zarei, the Assistant Secretary General of HIPA has been awarded with the ‘Excellent Achievement Award’ on behalf of Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) at the International Photographic Council (IPC) Pro Luncheon held in the United Nations last week. The accolade is the first of its kind to be presented to an international photography organization in the 16 year history of the Awards Luncheon.

Calligraphy by Hassan Massoudy

As part of Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2014, a special place has been given to well known calligrapher Hassan Massoudy, who has been honoured for his contributions in calligraphy field. The exhibition is on view at the Ceramics House at the Calligraphy Square in Sharjah (UAE) until June 6, 2014.

Kaaba Picture as a Misprint

'Kaaba Picture as a Misprint' marks the return of the artist to the UAE following her award of the Abraaj Capital Art Prize in 2011 and the Jury Prize at Sharjah Biennale 9. Exhibition will run at Lawrie Shabibi until May 27, 2014.

Lamya Gargash: Traces

Bilqis, a Series of Recent Paintings by Kamal Boullata

Meem Gallery is pleased to present Bilqis, an exhibition displaying the recent work of Kamal Boullata. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition at the gallery. Previously Meem exhibited a series of the artist’s silkscreen prints as part of the Meem Projects, Letters in Art display at Abu Dhabi Art 2012.
