SARAJEVO / The retrospective exhibition by Salim Obralić, a well known artist in Bosnia and Herzegovina opened in Bosniak Institute. The exhibition 'Pocitelj in Summer and Winter' shows paintings of the old Bosnian town between 1978 and 2011. The exhibition will run until September 2012.

The exhibition was opened by Amina Rizvanbegović Džuvić, Director of the Bosniak Institute, Aida Abadžić Hodžić, an Art Historian and the Artist himself.

Aida Abadžić Hodžić, explained Obralić's work: "Distancing himself from an over-intimate view, as he simplifies and cooles down, Salim Obralić is also achieving a synthesis of all his previous artistic experiences as he confronted the subject of Počitelj. These Počitelj lanscapes were created over a long period and constitute the sum of both the artist's process of maturing and his experiences with different media on the one hand, and his own experiences of life on the other. Just as one can never stand twice in the same river, so too one's view of Počitelj can never be the same. But Obralić, still restless as he faces his subject, still constantly working-up earlier compositions, seems to retain an open mind as he seeks the final tones to achieve "well-nourished symbols"."
