Alserkal Family is Honored with Patron of the Arts Award by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Alserkal Avenue has become an epicenter for the most prominent contemporary art galleries and a destination for cultural activities and projects, located within an industrial area of Dubai in Al Quoz. An organic development since 2007, today houses over 25 creative spaces, while doubling in size for 2014 with a 50 Mln dhs expansion project dedicated to extend a platform to welcome new organizations and diversify within the arts community. It will also include an events center for up to 1000 visitors, a courtyard and food outlets, as well as new additions such as architects, designers and studio spaces for the artists that will solidify Alserkal Avenue as an arts destination in Dubai and the region.

Mr. Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal, the developer of Alserkal Avenue and Patron of the Arts has thanked earlier today ‘We are honored to be recognized by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai for our small contribution to arts and culture. It is because of his vision that Dubai is what it is today and enables art projects to take place. It is exciting to witness Dubai become a hub for arts and culture in the region, acknowledgement goes to the art organizations that paved the way for the regional artists into International spotlight.’

Alserkal family has been honored with the Patron of the Arts Award for the two consecutive years for their various contribution to the arts and culture in Dubai and the UAE through Alserkal Family Heritage House and Cultural Foundation, Alserkal Avenue Arts District, as well as their contribution and support to various arts initiatives.
