Photo exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia ‘Capture the Spirit of Ramadan’ Launches Its 1st World-Touring Exhibition

Currently in its 4th year, the initiative offers an international platform for talented and professional photographers around the world to share their creativity in an effort to showcase the beauty of Islam through its art, architecture and cultural diversity. The IRPC currently houses the world's largest modern collection of Islamic themed photographs of Ramadan around the world featuring over 60 countries.
This past week the 1st international photography exhibition of 'Capture the Spirit of Ramadan' opened at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur; which will be part of a world-touring exhibit that will next go to Istanbul; London, for the Eid in Trafalgar Square events run by the Mayor of London; Melbourne, at the Islamic Museum of Australia and then to Paris and New York.
The IRPC boasts a prestigious jury panel which includes National Geographics' award winning photographer of the world’s most recognized photo of the green eyed Afghan girl, Steve McCurry; World Press Photo judge and Oxford lecturer, Dr. Shahidul Alam; renowned British Muslim photographer Peter Sanders; White House Special Representative to Muslim communities and Harvard professor, Farah Pandith; American University of Cairo Professor of Photojournalism, Dr. Shems Friedlander; and the IRPC Founder and Creative Director, award winning UN Photographic Councilman, Dr. Basel Almisshal.

The "Capture the Spirit of Ramadan" initiative is a non-profit, non-partisan Social Entrepreneurship project by award-winning creative firm StudioBasel.
