The Dubai International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition was one of the main highlights of the second Dubai Art Season. We bring you photos from the Exhibition - Part I.

The Dubai International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, featured over 70 workshops for various age-groups led by the best Arabic calligraphy experts with the aim of showcasing to visitors the history of the artform and its various forms of expression, styles and historical and social context.

The Dubai International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition featured several sections including Classic Calligraphy, by renowned and expert calligraphy artists and exceptional pieces from the collection of the Ministry of Culture as well as those owned by leading collectors in the UAE. There was a section on Modern Calligraphy and light calligraphy.

The exhibition at Wafi Mall in Dubai presented works by many calligraphy masters like Ahmed Fares, Fatma Al Baqali, Hakim Ghannam, Ali Mahmouh, Mahmoud Rahbaran, Mathny Elabidy, Mehmed Ozcay, Mohammed Yaman, Muhammed Safar Bati, Nada Al Maazmi, Naser Al Maymoon, Nuria Garcia, Obaida Al Banki, Sabah Arbili and many more.

The Dubai International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition promoted intercultural exchange of artists coming from all over the Arab world.
