The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) will host a series of photography workshops to employees of three different UAE government entities.

The three agencies are the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance services and the General Department of Organizations Protective Security and Emergency.

Each agency will be assigned a 5 day workshop period starting with Dubai Ambulance on the 16th until the 20th of August 2015. The General Department of organizations Protective Security and Emergency, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai will then receive their respective 5 day workshops over the month of September 2015.

Commenting on the upcoming series of workshops, the Secretary General of HIPA, His Excellency Ali Bin Thalith said "We hope that these workshops will teach agency employees basic photography and camera skills and that it will further enhance the general artistic senses and appreciation within most government employees." Bin Thalith continued, "After the success of the workshops we hosted in conjunction with the Dubai Police, we felt it was imperative we host a similar series of workshops with other prominent government agencies and we are hopeful of similar success this time around.”

The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) is an internationally renowned photography competition. It was launched in 2011 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The award enjoys a social and legal stature as a tool for promoting Dubai’s vision of artistic and cultural excellence.
