Iran’s Visual Arts Festival opens today

The Iranian Artists Forum, Niavaran Cultural Center, Saba Art and Cultural Institute, Tehran’s Palestine Museum of Contemporary Art, along with the art centers in 20 other provinces will be hosting the event, the public relations office of the festival reported on Saturday.
Six foreign countries of Austria, Italy, Syria, France, the Netherlands and Ghana will be joining Iran in displaying Iranian visual artworks during the festival.
A collection of 1600 artworks will go on display in the different categories of Islamic art, new art, and exhibits by veteran artists. Several provinces will also be holding workshops during the festival.
As part of Iran’s third edition of the Fajr Visual Arts Festival, “Seven Art, Seven Artists†expo opened last week in all the galleries of the Iranian Artists Forum in the seven categories of calligraphy, cartoon, sculpture, miniature, poster, photo and painting. The provinces of Lorestan, Gilan, Bushehr, South Khorasan, Ilam, Zanjan, Ardebil and several more areas will be showcasing a selection from the second edition of the festival which was held last year.
