Silk Route’s International Jilbab Design Competition: StyleIn! Announces Winner

So the countdown started in true epic fashion with hopeful designers on the edge of their seats and glued to their screen hoping that they would be the lucky winner of the fabulous prizes. It was a beautiful, electric and exciting night and if you missed it then we have a treat for you with a low down on the Top 3 including the lucky Winner.

Let’s just remind you of the prizes that were up for grabs. The winning design will be created and launched in Silk Route’s Spring 2012 collection with a wide press coverage from Muslim Magazines, including Islamic Arts Magazine, and they will win £500 cash. Not only that, but they will secure a 6 months internship with the Silk Route design team and mentoring from our Head designer Adnan Khalid. The winner will also receive a Rabia Z. Signature Gathered-Top Sheyla and a one hour Skype consultation with renowned fashion designer, Rabia Z. Second and third place designers will also get a cash prize of £300 and £200 and mention in all press coverage and even a chance of their design featuring in the Spring 2012 collection.

At Number 3 we have a Power House of a designer from the UK. Congrats to Amona Abdullah from UK

At Number 2 we have a Power House of a designer who has submitted some thought provoking pieces in all categories even some Couture looks - The Judges went wild for her designs. Congrats to Aminah aka AFS from Russia

The winner

The winner of Silk Route’s StyleIn! Jilbab Design Competition 2011 is a designer who has really given us designs that are practical, unique and years ahead of our time. She is a Diamond in the rough ready to be polished and turned into a priceless talent and inspiration for Designers and Muslimahs the world over. Congrats Llallo from Russia.
