ISTANBUL 11–31 December / Exhibition of over 200 masters in Istanbul today who produce in traditional book arts such as lettering (hatt), gilding (tezhib), coating (kat), irrigation of paper (ebru), miniatures, and binding (cilt) at Fatih Ali Emiri Efendi Cultural Center in Istanbul.

The Project aims at exhibiting those contemporary craftsmen’s artwork of Turkish book arts in order to expose the current level of these arts and making solid contributions to their permanence. The third and last leg of the project realized under the counsellorship of Beşir Ayvazoğlu, Prof. M. Uğur Derman and Prof. Dr. Çiçek Derman; will take place at Fatih Ali Emiri Efendi Cultural Center on 11–31 December. The project features more than 100 works by 97 artists and it is accompanied by a catalogue containing articles by Fatih Özkafa, Gülbün Mesara, Faruk Taşkale, Serra Güney Özkan, M. Sadreddin Özçimi and Cahide Keskiner sheding light onto the history of those arts.
