‘Evidence’ by Iraqi Artist Wamidh Al‐Ameri

Many of the artist's installations are related to Iraqi history or politics; he thus understands his work as a witness statement or testimony. Al-Ameri always uses pictorial and "evident" language to translate a complex message, which has become his artistic guiding principle.

Light from the Middle East: New Photography

A major collection of contemporary photography focusing on the Middle East, supported by the Art Fund, has been established for the public by the British Museum and the V&A it was announced today. Most of the Collection will be showcased in the major exhibition, 'Light from the Middle East: New Photography' at the V&A from 13 November 2012 – 7 April 2013.

The Next Generation: Contemporary Iranian Calligraphy

ZÃœRICH / Iranian art has entered a particularly significant period of transformation, driven by a thriving artistic community both inside and outside of Iran. Galerie Kashya Hildebrand will present six emerging contemporary artists (Aghighi Bakhshayeshi, Mohamad Bozorgi, Habib Faraj Abadi, Hadieh Shafie, Abolfazi Shai and Behrouz Zindashtiof) of Iranian origin who are pushing Iranian art in bold new directions.
