PHOTOGRAPHY Merit Medal Recipients for HIPA’s Eighth Season Announced

The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has announced its ‘Merit Medal’ recipients for the recently concluded eighth season, ‘Hope’. Seventeen photographers have been recognised for their submissions across the season’s four categories. They will receive HIPA Merit Medals as well as a copy of HIPA’s annual book.

Commenting on this announcement, the Secretary General of HIPA, Ali bin Thalith said, “The HIPA Merit Medals are an honourable mention of photographers who reached the final stages of judging with submissions deserving of praise. From the seventeen total recipients, three were from the ‘Hope’ category, four from the ‘Portfolio’ category, three from the ‘Aerial Photography (Video)’ category, and seven in total from the ‘General’ category (three Colour and four Black and White). The HIPA Merit Medals were designed by HIPA Board of Trustees member and artist, His Excellency Matar bin Lahej.”

HIPA recently concluded its eighth season ‘Hope’ with a stunning award ceremony held at the Dubai Opera on the 12th of March 2019.
