In the last years the artist, who lives in Tehran, has steadily established a circle of collectors in Europe. It is her unique style that brings young Iranian artist Samira Hodaei the recognition and respect of renowned art buyers.
With the pixilated forms and bright colours Samira Hodaei portrays the stories of struggles in simple yet profound allegorical imagery. Now, for the very first time, her works are shown in a solo exhibition in the Middle East. After sold out exhibitions in Switzerland, Vienna, Berlin, Milan and great attention in Japan, the artist created a new work series especially for the exhibition in Dubai.

Samira Hodaei (*1981) was born in Tehran, Iran. After finishing her degree at Al Zahra University in Tehran Samira Hodaei assisted the internationally known artist Reza Derakshani for six years. In 2010 she was invited by the ORYX Foundation Lucerne to stay as artist in residence in Switzerland. During this time Hodaei created her two well-known work series 'Stone and Mute Birds' and 'Dancing the Sharp Edge'.

Hodaeis works have been part of numerous solo - and group shows in Australia, Austria, Germany, Qatar, Japan, Turkey and Switzerland and have been shown at various art fairs in Basel, Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Her work 'Endless' was chosen for the Funsaka-Osaka Biennale/Japan in autumn 2012.
In a very subtle, unobtrusive way Samira Hodaeis' paintings deal with traditional and contemporary issues of Iran as well as with the cultural background of the artist. The artist lives and works in Tehran/Iran.
