The split between the borders originally drawn to box us in definitions and established territories

The recent exhibition by Neda Zarf Saz at Etemad Gallery in Tehran offers to lead us through 'the rift'. The soft lines, whether drawn or boxed in a shape, form a certain path and we are invited to follow. The series evolves from Neda's eternal search and struggle with the nature of things and sceneries. Her understanding of time and changes that time brings, makes us see the organic and linear lines as a contrast between man made structures and nature. Next to the organic lines, Neda explores landscapes which she translates in her work with photography. She uses various mediums as her tools of expression in her installations that are bold and daring.

In the contemporary sense, Neda is an interdisciplinary artist who does not hesitate to wander around the edges and experiment with surfaces and layers, sharing it with us generously: In her videos for example and the way she is manipulating, adding/removing material to/from a photographic medium, drawing pale lines on the glass window, bringing triangular and free forms into the space, she is simultaneously following and leading the spectator; assembling hand-drawn warning tapes to promise a change in the way we perceive the patterns of vibration; an unfamiliar 'Seismography.'
